The Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy 5" AOS 9mm brings double-stack capacity to the classic 1911 platform, pairing a forged stainless steel 5-inch barrel with a black Cerakote slide and frame for a modern, duty-ready pistol. Its Adaptive Optic System (AOS) slide is cut to accept a variety of popular red dot footprints, while aggressive slide serrations and a textured polymer grip module support confident control under recoil.
This blemished model offers the same performance as standard Prodigy pistols, with cosmetic finish imperfections on the slide, rail, or box that do not affect function. Chambered in 9mm Luger and shipped with one 17-round and one 20-round magazine, it is well suited for range use, competition, and defensive training where high capacity and a crisp 1911 trigger are valued. Springfield Armory’s long-standing reputation for practical innovation and solid craftsmanship is evident throughout this double-stack 1911 design.
