This Proof Research PXT barrel blank gives custom builders and gunsmiths a 24.00" .308 caliber carbon fiber barrel in a Sendero contour, with a 1:10 twist, to chamber and fit for a bolt-action build. As a blank it leaves chambering, fitting and threading to the builder, and the carbon fiber construction delivers a strong stiffness-to-weight ratio for a lighter finished rifle.
PXT, PROOF Exponential Twist, reworks the rifling geometry and twist progression with a much lower lead angle, easing the bullet into the rifling. Proof built it to lower engraving force and throat erosion and reduce felt torque, and reports a 30-100% increase in barrel life in controlled testing while holding Proof's accuracy standard.
