The Glock 17 Gen 6 Optic Ready System is a full-size pistol chambered in 9MM (9x19 mm), built around a 4.49" barrel that measures 114 mm. It runs on the Safe Action System, which stacks three passive, independently operating mechanical safeties that release in sequence as the trigger is pulled and re-engage when it is let go. The slide is cut for a micro red dot, so an optic can be added later, and the pistol comes with fixed sights in the meantime.

The frame carries a palm swell, a thumb rest and Gen6 grip texture, and the pistol uses a flat-faced trigger with a listed pull of 26 N. This model has no external safety. It ships with three 17-round magazines, matching the standard capacity of 17 rounds. The finish pairs an OD Green frame with a black slide, which sets it apart from the standard all-black model.
