The Geissele Automatics GFW SBR is a compact 5.56 NATO short-barreled rifle built around a semi-automatic action. Its 8" cold hammer-forged barrel is chrome-lined and cut with a 1:7 twist. The Geissele Phased Array gas system is described as giving a smooth, controllable recoil impulse. The muzzle carries a HUXWRX Flash Hider QD 5.56 on 1/2x28 threads, so a compatible suppressor can be mounted.

Fire control is handled by a Geissele SSA-X trigger. The GFW dual-telescoping stock extends with a simple pull and holds in two positions, and the controls stay reachable even when it is collapsed. The rifle is supplied without a magazine. The finish is Desert Dirt Color (DDC).
