HOW TO PLAN A FUN BACHELOR OR BACHELORETTE PARTY

Were you recently put in charge of a bachelor or bachelorette party? As the bride’s or groom’s right-hand guy or gal, you want the experience to be epic.

But the number of things you have to consider can quickly get overwhelming — especially since these days, the traditional bachelor-party scene just doesn’t cut it. If you’re wondering how to make this party unforgettable, here are some of the most important things to keep in mind.

Plan Early

There’s nothing worse than gathering a group of guests for a bachelor or bachelorette party just to have them sit around all night trying to figure out what to do. Be the best host you can be and make a plan early on — including the guest list, activities, proposed expenses for each guest and any travel dates.

Send out invites and a schedule of events as early as possible so that your guests have time to plan. Once you find out who will be coming and who might be a no-show, you can adjust your schedule accordingly.

Consider Your Budget

One of the first steps in the party planning process is to think about your budget. You want to celebrate the bride or groom in the most fantastic way possible, but you should also remain aware of your limits. The best way to do this is to talk to the bride or groom about their expectations of the event. You might have to go back and forth to determine what is reasonable for both of you.

Since other groomsmen or bridesmaids often pitch in to help cover the night’s expenses, you should also talk to these guests to determine how much they’re willing to spend as well. Make it clear what you expect each person to contribute. Then, once you’ve decided on a budget you can all agree to, write it down and stick to it as you create a schedule of the night’s events. Be sure to add a buffer for any unplanned expenses that might arise.

Respect the Wishes of the Bride or Groom

You might already have a clear picture in your mind about how the entire night will pan out. But have you actually asked the bride or groom what they want — and don’t want — during their big night?

Everyone will have opinions about the party you throw. But really, the only voices that matter are yours and those of the people you will be celebrating. Maybe the two have decided they want a joint bachelor and bachelorette party. Perhaps they already have an activity in mind for their dream night. Or, maybe they’re dead-set against anything they would consider too scandalous. Make sure you consider these requests as you plan a fun-filled night the bride or groom will love.

Find a Fun Activity Your Whole Party Can Enjoy

Do you want to switch up your bachelor or bachelorette party and go beyond the predictable? From a budget-friendly night at home to an over-the-top destination party, there are so many great ideas out there beyond the traditional bar hopping or strip clubs. Some different party ideas for bachelorette, bachelor and combined parties include:

  • Game night with hilarious group games like Cards Against Humanity
  • Escape rooms
  • Sporting events
  • Camping
  • Concerts
  • Road trips
  • Shooting ranges
